From artisans working with the cooperative La Semilla de Dios, crafting wooden items painted in the famous La Palma folk art style.

Founded by internationally known Salvadoran artist Fernando Ilort, the cooperative paints in the simple, joyful, colourful folk art style for which Ilort’s work is known.

Artists draw the designs, often from memory and occasionally using stencils. Women paint the pieces by hand, a time-consuming process that requires significant concentration.
