Recycled paper is carefully wound around a quill. The coils are then glued into intricate shapes like this good news angel. Paper quilling is an art that dates back hundreds of years.
Today, these quilled paper ornaments are handcrafted by artisans working with Mai Handicrafts in Vietnam. Many of the artisans are women who are able to work in their homes using this traditional skill, earning sustainable incomes while caring for their children.
